“Just as winter approaches our Vaillant boiler decided to go into fault! On a Friday teatime! No hot water and no heating! I’d had it serviced only four weeks ago so I rang the guy who did the service and….. well lets just say I won’t be using him for the next service, or anything else!
I rang around all that I could find and no one seemed interested to help, I did however manage to get it going again with the help of Google, but I knew I wanted to make sure all was right and ready for the colder months.
While searching the internet I came across “Glowcare” and read a few glowing reviews for Graham, he covered the area I lived in and I was able to ring any time from 8 till 8 so I rang on the Saturday, I explained the fault and the concerns I had, and he gave me a Monday appointment. Unfortunately I was not going to be there, but the good lady was and it was all arranged. He arrived on time did what needed to be done and serviced the boiler. Clean efficient service, charged exactly what he had quoted and promised us he would be in touch in 12 months to come back and do a further service. I’m not sure I could have asked for more. First the Saunier Duval fitted in 1987 and finally replaced in 2005 after 18 years of quality servicing. It was replaced by a Glow Worm CXI boiler fitted by British Gas, now 8 years old but Graham reckons good for another 15 years. “My 12 year old Glowworm Hideaway boiler stopped working a day after an annual service visit by the large national company with whom I had a “care” contract. “My Vaillant Ecotech boiler was losing pressure; requiring regular tops ups of water. When the pressure became too low the central heating would stop working. Over the course of a six week period I had three gas engineers visit to fix the problem. They all gave different reasons for the fault and in each case the boiler continued to lose pressure. On the last visit I was informed I had to go through the expensive process of having the expansion vessel replaced. In my frustration I returned to the internet and chanced upon Graham and Glowcare. Graham rang me back exactly when he said he would and arrived at the house when he said he would. A first in my experience of gas engineers. He fixed the problem by recharging the expansion vessel in a process that took about 40 minutes. He was chatty, friendly and charged me exactly what he said he would; a fair price.
